Mike’s love for videography started in the 1990s when he got his hands on the family camcorder. Once in high school, he would spend many hours in the cable access studio. He and his friends would film and edit their convoluted ideas of fun. Although he intended to pursue this in college, he would walk away from it for a very long time.
Mike found his love for creating and editing again during the pandemic. He dove head first into all the tools at his disposal. Today, his preferred editing program is Adobe Premiere. He is also very skilled in editing on his phone in apps like CapCut and InShot.
The best way to observe Mike’s dynamic range is on his TikTok page. It is used as a playground for trying new things, such as copying a shot from a movie or throwing things back to the family camcorder. Ask him to show you a TikTok he shot inspired by a movie.
Recently, Apple released its Creator Studio. Mike saw this as an opportunity to take a look at Final Cut Pro. The video below is his first attempt at editing with it. Pretty, pretty good.
If you want clean, no-frills shots and edits, Mike can do that. If you want to get wild with angles, filters, layers, and colors, he would love to do that.
